Borrowing policies
Borrowing privileges: Students
- A valid college ID must be shown to borrow items.
- There is no limit to the number of items that may be borrowed.
- Books may be borrowed for 28 days and may be renewed twice.
- Semester book loans are available to honors students.
- DVDs and videocassettes may be borrowed for one week.
- Periodicals, microforms, and reference books may not be borrowed.
Borrowing privileges: Faculty and staff
- Books, with the exception of books from the browsing collection, may be borrowed for the academic year. The loan period for browsing books is 28 days.
- DVDs and videocassettes may be borrowed for one week.
- Bound periodicals may be borrowed for one week; unbound periodicals may be borrowed for two days.
Borrowing privileges: Lafayette alumni
- Borrowing privileges for Lafayette alumni are available through membership in the Friends of Skillman Library. A donation of $50 or more entitles Friends to borrowing privileges at Skillman and Kirby Libraries.
- Friends of Skillman may borrow up to five books for 28 days.
Borrowing privileges: LVAIC students and faculty
- Students and faculty at other LVAIC colleges may borrow books with a valid college ID.
- Books may be borrowed for 28 days.
Borrowing privileges: Area residents
- Borrowing privileges for area residents over age 18 are available through membership in the Friends of Skillman Library. A donation of $50 or more entitles Friends to borrowing privileges at Skillman and Kirby Libraries.
- Friends of Skillman may borrow up to five books for 28 days.
