The fifteen-minute online questionnaire is designed to assess students’ experiences, beliefs, and proficiencies in conducting academic research. The survey, administered by the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS), was created by librarians, faculty, IT staff, and students from several liberal arts colleges and universities.

The survey is distributed twice to the first year students at Lafayette: first in the fall prior to any college level instruction in research to capture baseline data about students, and second in the spring to see the extent to which students developed their research skills and attitudes through First Year Seminar.

If you would like to learn more about the survey and/or discuss the survey results, please contact Lijuan Xu at xul@lafayette.edu or extension 5152.
