Friends of Skillman Library is an association of individuals dedicated to increasing and making better known the resources of Lafayette College’s library.  Founded in 1964, the Friends has alumni, faculty, students, community residents, and other members who share a special interest in assuring the library’s continuing vitality.

Through gifts and membership dues, the Friends makes possible the purchase of rare books, manuscripts, and other material that could not otherwise be acquired by the library; supports the development of digital initiatives, and sponsors numerous public programs and exhibitions.

A portion of Friends contributions will be designated to support initiatives that will enhance diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the libraries.  We are developing a plan to improve DEI across library services and collections, and to ensure that our library spaces, services, collections, and programs support, advocate for, and amplify the voices of marginalized and underrepresented communities on campus.
