Digital Scholarship Services launches new digital repository platform
The Library's Digital Scholarship Services (DSS) department is pleased to announce the release of our new Islandora/Fedora-based digital repository platform. After close to a year of planning, development, and testing, this new web site offers significant improvements in usability and better tools for long-term management and preservation of scholarly digital assets.
Available now at http://digital.lafayette.edu, the new web site replaces multiple systems by offering integrated access to all digital collections, including the East Asia Image Collection, the Marquis de Lafayette Prints Collection, and the complete 144-year run of The Lafayette, along with all DSS departmental pages. The new site replaces our old Digital Collections web presence as well as Lafayette's CONTENTdm image repository.
Over the summer, DSS will begin to develop faculty research applications on the same platform, including support for geospatial content and crowd-sourced development of digital collections, to name just a few, and will also migrate content from the Lafayette Digital Repository (http://dspace.lafayette.edu).
