The Libraries have completed the purchase of three new resources for primary research. The Database of Chinese Classics and Ancient Books Database (爱如生 基本古籍库) provides digitized, searchable full text of classical texts from the pre-Qin period to the Republican era. The content is split across 4 subject areas: Philosophy and Science; History and Geography; Art and Literature; and General Works (including encyclopedias). Note that this resource is limited to 1 user at a time.
We have also added to our collection of Oxford Research Encyclopedias by purchasing the OREs for Asian History and African History. These digital reference resources offer a wide variety of peer-reviewed articles written by scholars. The articles are extremely thorough, are updated periodically to reflect the most current scholarship, and include extensive bibliographies.
