The access services department includes circulation, interlibrary loan, outreach and communications as well as ensuring that the Skillman & Kirby Library buildings are accessible and functional. We are committed to providing the highest level of customer service and strive to provide you with the resources and spaces you need. If we don’t have an item, we can get most anything for you through interlibrary loan.
We loan a lot more than just books. Here you’ll find extensive technology & life library items that range from computers, phone chargers to bikes, vacuums, museum passes and board games. Have a suggestion for what we should loan next? Let us know with this form. We are also the College’s largest employer of students on campus and you will often find that our student workers are the “face” you meet at the circulation desk. Through our outreach and communications staff we plan most events and programming within the library.
The Resource Management & Systems department (RMS) plays an essential role behind the scenes in ensuring that all library materials and collections are correctly represented, easily discoverable, and accessible to the library’s users. RMS is responsible for budgeting and projections, ordering and acquisitions, cataloging and processing, serials management and subscriptions, and metadata management and licensing. These duties encompass both print and electronic resources. Maintenance and enhancements to the library’s system (FOLIO), public catalog (VuFind), proxy server for off campus access (EZProxy), and other library softwares and systems are also managed by RMS.
