The Library recently purchased several new primary source collections:

  • Asian Life in America: A collection of nearly 19,000 newspapers covering the experience and impact of Asian Americans as recorded by the American and international news media.
  • Women and Transnational Networks: A collection of serials, books, manuscripts, diaries, reports, and visual materials covering “social reform movements and groups, high and popular culture, literature and the arts, immigration, daily life, women’s labor, and religion” through a transnational lens.
  • Encyclopedia of Taiwan Studies Online: An in-progress encyclopedia covering Taiwanese history, society, culture, economy, politics, and international relations. The encyclopedia is expected to be completed by end of 2024.
  • New York Academy of Science Archives: Digitized archives including the Academy’s records, minutes, and memos from 1817-present, as well as the papers of Academy members and Fellows, which include scientific journals and correspondence detailing scientific findings.
