The High Energy Astrophysics Science Archive Research Center (HEASARC) is the primary archive for high-energy astronomy missions, in the extreme ultraviolet, X-ray, and gamma-ray wavelengths. The HEASARC provides archival data, multi-mission software and analysis tools, and information about current and past observatory missions.

National Historical Geographic Information System (NHGIS)

NHGIS is a data portal for U.S. Census data in both tabular and geospatial formats. It provides access to summary statistics and GIS boundary files for population and agricultural censuses and other nationwide surveys from 1790 through the present. Interactive, online mapping service from the U.S. Geological Survey. Create customized topographic maps reflecting elevation, geology, land use, natural hazards, and other features.

A source for free geospatial datasets covering the entire globe at small, large, and medium scales. Includes a variety of cultural and natural features as well as elevation and bathymetric basemaps.
