The Library has recently purchased two major archives of material covering Women’s & Gender Studies. These resources, detailed below, comprise millions of pages of primary sources including newspapers, monographs, personal correspondence, images, photographs, and more.
Women’s Issues and Identities highlights the experiences of women from the early 19th century to the present day. The materials in this collection offer a window into the lives of women throughout the world, from suffrage movements to reproductive rights.
LGBTQ History and Culture Since 1940, Part I covers the history of social and political organizations involved with the LGBTQ movement, with particular strength in gay rights activism and the American and international responses to the AIDS crisis. This archive will be a strong complement to the College’s Archives & Special Collections’ recently launched Queer Archives Project.
