

This selection of images comes from Series XXII: Scenes from the Life: 1776-1834, a collection of ninety-seven prints detailing the life and times of the Marquis de Lafayette.
The series provides a visual history of some of the most notable events in Lafayette’s life, such as the French Revolution, his participation in the American Revolution, his imprisonment at Olmütz, his farewell tour of America, his role in French politics, and his death.
