About the Lafayette College Libraries
- A central space and resource, the Lafayette College Libraries have been affectionately referred to as the “heart of the campus.” The Libraries empower students, faculty, staff, and the broader community to engage critically with information. We support the creation of scholarship by curating resources; teaching the concepts and tools needed to find, evaluate, create, and use information; and fostering a cross-disciplinary community of scholars and creators within our space. Skillman Library is located on the Quad; renovated in 2004, it provides ample room for learning and study, technology, and library collections. Kirby Library is housed in the Beaux-Arts style Kirby Hall of Civil Rights, which was completed in 1930 and renovated in the late 1990s. The Library’s classically-inspired, oak-paneled reading room is among the most beautiful interior spaces on campus.
